Conservationist Perspective

In InterWET, the Conservationist Perspective gives a three dimensional view or geographic view of the different water resource components.

For a conservationist from a government agency or environmental group, the purpose of studying each water resource component is to determine what are the current and past levels of each component. Their studies would determine these levels for a geographic region of concern. The results of their work would be maps, tables, and reports which would give a more complete understanding of the water resource components for that geographic region.

InterWET uses interactive maps, static maps, and tables to help the learner discover the levels of each water resource component for the case study of the Spring Creek Watershed in central Pennsylvania. The web page for each component is based on previous papers and reports for the Spring Creek Watershed. Each page starts with brief instructions for using the interactive maps. The pages go on to describe the water resource information and highlights the relationships between the water resource component levels at different locations.
